We are big @mochalottie fans here at the blog and this is no exception! 

our hearts beat in the womb of the world! (which I am a chapter behind on cause often lately I give myself 30 minutes to read fic at night and I can’t justify how I know I’ll get sucked in, so if you spoil that shit for me I’ll kill you).

You all know Tonowari and Ronal adopting Spider fics are not my fav thing. But. The EFFORT put into taking every character's point of view into account and giving them all grace and care is amazing. I love Spider’s relationships with everyone, it makes me just kssmskks. There are no words, just Eywa’s love for him! Tears. Neytiri is very interesting to me in this as well, and ya’ll know her characterization is always very important to me.

hair pulled back into a high ponytail with the front twisted back, your hair swayed as you heard a commotion with your people.

being the oldest of tsireya and ao’nung, you were at fault for them. so when you saw your siblings in the front, you immediately walked over.

“tsireya, ao’nung, rotxo-“ you scolded, but quickly shut up when you saw the tall male staring directly at you.

your ears fell and a heat rushed into your face, your stomach churning as it felt like electricity between you two.

you and neteyam practically clicked immediately. however, you couldn't exactly come forward about your feelings to your mother as she was not fond of the omatikayas.

the only person who did know about your secret relationship was your best friend, mereyay, after she had seen you and neteyam holding hands on the beach one late afternoon.

the night you and neteyam had decided to become mates was beautiful.

your eyes sparkled under the stars, smile bright as a flower was tucked behind your ears. neteyam smiled down at you, a flustered look on his face as he held his hands in yours. you both sat on your knees in the cove of the ancestors.

"my beautiful girl," neteyam ran his hand down your cheek as you stared up at him in adoration.

you took your queue, looking him in the eyes as you two made tsaheylu. your senses strengthened as your souls intertwined, both your ears faltering as you hugged your mate close to you.

neteyam cupped your jaw, pulling you towards him as his lips tenderly kissed yours. he hovered over you until your back hit the stone, the ocean calm with waves splashing over by the reef. it was too perfect.

that night you officially became neteyam's, letting him take your body and claiming it as his, much as his was yours.

you had heard stories from the villages for years about how the night you officially mate was when you were to expect a child from eywa, and when you got no signs of pregnancy, it pained your heart.

but neteyam was there with you for every step. and frankly, he didn't mind having your pretty legs wrapped around him.

he could sense your sadness every time the village was welcomed with a child, your baby fever high as all you wanted was to be blessed from the great mother.

and ronal could tell there was something bothering you, but every time she pressed on it, you would dodge the question.

and the day you finally got the signs, your skin glowed and your eyes were filled with happiness. all you had to do was tell neteyam, trying to figure out when it was the best.

you approached mereyay as she helped the children weave baskets.

"'eylan (friend), i have great news."

mereyay looked up at you, nose scrunching as she dismissed the children. you watched as they ran off, thinking that within years that your child would be learning the way of your people.

"what has happened?" mereyay asked. she was a couple inches taller than you, deep blue eyes, with short curly hair she kept tucked behind her ears. her nose was pointed and she had sharp cheekbones, looking as if they could slice anyone. her tribal tattoo circled her left eye, making her look tough.

"i am with child. the great mother has blessed me." you were grinning, your happiness overlooking how her eyes twitched.

"that is wonderful, y/n! does neteyam know?"

you stood next to your mate, trying to hide your fear as your people needed you. but just as tonowari made any speech of war, mereyay stepped forward and silenced the crowd.

your heart pounded in your chest as she looked up at your parents.

"i believe it is best that y/n stay back, considering she is with child."

gasps were heard in the pod as mereyay stared at you, her normally dark eyes even darker as her ears were pointed upwards.

jake grabbed neteyam's shoulder as your lip trembled, the pieces connecting to the omatikayas and your family.

"is this true?" ronal spat at you, her eyes narrowed as she watched you cry.

neteyam looked at you, shock written on his face. you turned towards your mate, ducking your head down.

"it is true. i am pregnant."

you heard your mother hiss as tsireya grabbed your forearm, trying to comfort you. tonowari pursed his lips, unsure of what to say.

"you mated with y/n?" you heard jake's harsh scolding.

"how could you?" you looked up at mereyay.

"i trusted you... i trusted you!" anger ran through your veins as you pointed at her. the woman just shrugged, betrayal going on your face as you sobbed out.

neteyam caught you in his arms, the villagers all staring at mereyay.

"why would you do this to my daughter?" tonowari asked, his voice deep.

"she is a traitor! breeding with a half blood, his siblings aren't even true na'vi!" mereyay hissed.

"that is enough." neytiri hissed back, her eyes wide and full of hatred.

"we will deal with this later. right now, we fight!"

"tonowari, we cannot fight. you must warn the tulkun as they are being hunted!" jake spoke up.

within moments, the villagers scattered as you stood with neteyam in the hut.

"you are with my child?" he asked, placing his hand on your tummy.

"i wanted to tell you in a special way, not like this," you sniffled.

neteyam wiped your tears, placing a gentle kiss to your forehead. he was always so loving, so tender.

"i am sorry, ma neteyam." you frowned, putting your head in his chest as he hugged you tight.

"don't be sorry, ma y/n. you are my mate, my past, present, and future. and i am beyond excited for this baby, even if the announcement wasn't as planned."

he joked, making you laugh against him. he always knew what to say, knowing you better than you knew yourself.

I just had this thought inside my head for like, a week, so I wanted to share it with you :)

Just… reader getting her period

Wakes up next to you and sees blood on the inside of your tights.Immediately panics and tries to wake you up to make sure you’re alive. When he is sure you are well (after a lot of reassurances from you) he asks the dreaded question « what’s wrong??? ». You’re kinda embarrassed to explain this to him while you still have blood on you, but you go for it. He just stares at you, in incredulity and horror as he asks what do you mean your uterus « just basically shreds itself apart?! ». You have to explain how the female human body works for him to finally calm down a little. Still hates seeing you in pain because of your cramps and does everything he can to make you feel better. Tsu’tey will basically bend himself over to obey your every whim, unless it’s something he deems ‘too dangerous’ while you’re in this even more fragile state than usual. He’ll massage you, bring you numerous fruits, give you little gifts and will make sure your feet do not touch the ground (he carries you everywhere), but do not ask him to leave the village to go explore, because he will not accept that. You have to be in his sights 24/7 and it’s aggravating, but also endearing, as he seems dead set on treating you like a queen.

Tonowari & Ronal

You wake up to their very concerned questions.They feel confused and guilty (you are under their protection, how could they ‘let’ something/someone harm you while being right beside you?) and kind of panicked. Ronal is the most rational of the two, checking you for wounds, while Tonowari asks multiple questions, while trying to appear calm (he doesn’t really succeed). You have to ask Ronal to stop checking for any wounds and you bravely answer every question Tonowari has. You have to explain to them how a period works, what it is, etc. When you’re finally done with your explanation, they look at you in stunned silence, while a look of horror slowly arrives upon their face. Ronal probably asks some insensitive questions (without meaning to), like « you can’t stop it? You can’t hold the blood in? » (she’s just curious.) Tonowari is appalled that this happens every month, but he will be the first one to come to you if a flicker of pain is shown in your eyes. Ronal will prepare you medicine to make you feel better and cuddle with you when she has the time.

Hey would you positively do a atwow x queen!reader who is the mother of dragons like Daenerys Targaryen and she has like white hair like daenerys and purple eyes but her skin is brown. She and her dragons teleport to the metekyina village accident and everyone is shocked and ronal could feel the powerful energy surrounding the reader, they let her stay there until she can find her way back to keep kingdom. She get close with them all and she tells them how she get her dragons and how she is immune to fire and can wield it. She meets the sully when they arrive and neytiri and her don’t like each other at all but she like the children (the sully family doesn’t know about her dragon yet) when the attack happen she saves neteyam and BAM her dragons arrive scared the living eywa out of them. She meets spider and immediately says that’s her child no matter what (spider deserves a mother who loves him) and they meet her dragon ( the dragons immediately loves spider because of their mother and because that’s their NEW BABY BRO) she finds out how spider was treated and literally cussing them out in Valyria and tells everyone if spider is so much as threatened she will gladly feed them to her dragons ( I’m talking about you neytiri) and spider bonding with one of her dragons which the reader tells him it’s his now and ask if he wants to come with her to her world and spider asking for if he has to wear the mask which she tells him no and that he will be know as her son, AND SPIDER SAYING YES ( I’m sorry but spider has my heart). She takes care of him redo his hair ( his hair literally was screaming for help) and makes him proud of who he is no matter where he came from and who he came from. And she tells jake one day she expects better from him because she know that a child isn’t to blame for the sins from their parent and that he would at least tell his wife that. In my modern au, I see Neteyam as a straight boi, he's only ever looked at girls and has had maybe one solid, steady relationship before going off to college. He possibly starts to explore other options when he's a bit older, but during high school that's how I think it is. Again Lo'ak is straight, and he only has eyes for Tsireya.

Spider is the biggest ace. He's not interested in anything like that, but he has the biggest platonic crush on Kiri. He doesn't know that's what it is, because the thought of sexuality has not even come up in his brain. He just loves spending time with her and sees her as his best friend. Platonic soulmates allllll the way 🥰🥰

Kiri is whatever she wants. Definitely demi, but also pan probably. I haven't thought too much about it because like Spider, she is still way young and no one has really been attractive enough to her yet.

Neytiri is a bisexual queen, because of course she is. And Tonowari and Ronal are happily married straights (even though they haven't even been mentioned in the fic yet 😂).

Another very important and long awaited update as a treat for you all, more Spider fics I injected straight into my bloodstream like heroin.

Eywa Forgive Us by S_eshet, I did include the whole series here but the two works are unrelated. One did make me cry big fatass tears to the point that my roommate came into my room to check on me, the other is from the point of view of Eywa watching over Spider. I have read two fics like that and I adored them sm pls. 

The Song Cord by ENC95 I am invested in this I love fics where the people of the village Spider tried to help save acknowledge him and thank him.

Family is Who You Fight For by virtualpapercuts got so good towards the end, I have reread that end battle chapter so many times. Loved the Ronal and Spider moments and istg the stuff with his mask at the end, I cried so fucking hard no joke. 

Alright now lets take a weird little trip, an expansion in our criteria. 

I know I made a post about how these fics make me sad because Kiri, Lo’ak, and Spider don’t have each other but here are some iconic banger Tonowari and Ronal adopt Spider fics. I’m Still Here by AlexiHollis @alexihollis is an absolute banger and I am obsessed with it and our hearts beat in the womb of the world which has jsut started but we trust our queen Mocha_Lottie @mochalottie. 

In general I prefer the kids as siblings, but I have been so obsessed with this shit lately I’ve been clicking on any and all fics with Spider tagged that I think won’t shit on him. Here are some shipping related ones that unfortunately?? Have me kicking my feet and twirling my hair a lil. Got me all smiley and shit stop that. 

please be kind, please be gentle with me by cuipid which is Kiri/Spider and is rocking my world in a way that surprised me. SPIDERS TSURAK??? TIMAL?? THEIR VIBES ARE IMMACULATE obsessed with his iknimaya. 

Lets get even weirder with some?? Lo’ak/Spider fics?? A concept I hadn’t even fathomed and had no idea anyone else did either but here are two absurdly well written fics for that first we have A Spider’s Heart by sweetmars03 which Spider legit isn’t in, it’s Tsireya and Lo’ak talking about Lo’ak missing him but like fuck if it didn’t punch me in the heart. Second we have Bitter by Icandigelvis @oppa86oppa which is some of the best dialogue and character chemistry I’ve read in a long ass time tbh and I am a creative writing major, I spend half my life in creative writing workshops doing nothing but reading short stories and trying to improve just that. I left that story mad at how genuinely bittersweet and realistic it felt I’m pissed there isn’t more.

-Eywa Provides by Mocha_Lottie, this author needs to chill (but also pls don’t) they ruin me with each Spider fic. This one is a born Na’vi Spider one. 

-Spider Sully by AlexiHollis is another absolute banger series, truly the Neytiri one especially kills me. And bonus points on returning to the forest and giving me Mo’at.

I’m bored and high on meds and decided to make Avatar the Way of Water HCs

Jake: - has definitely, actually roared at his sons at least once out of frustration - is still super in love with Neytiri, like a teenage kid - while Neteyam may be his first born and the "golden child" of the Sullys, Kiri has a very special place in Jake's heart - carries Tuk under his arm like a purse

Neytiri: - used to sing her kids to sleep when they were little - she doesn't strike me as the parent who would get mad at her kids for saying bad words, unless they're aimed at another person - was heartbroken when she learned that Kiri cannot connect to Eywa safely - doesn't like when Jake carries Tuk under his arm like a purse - strikes me as a mother who hated being pregnant, but loves kids so much she happily did it anyway

Neteyam: - he's bi - like you cannot tell me that Neteyam is 100% straight - *was - read human books in attempts at looking smart for people he had a crush on - books were always turned upside down - "oh uhhhhh that's because I'm so smart I can read them upside down haha" - everyone knew he couldn't even read because no one can because the Na'vi do not have a written language

Kiri: - Sass Queen™ - which she got from her father, Jake - connects with Spider so well because they both feel different from everyone else around them - I will riot a lil bit if she doesn't develop feelings for a girl in the future - still calls Lo'ak "penis face" once ina while to put him in his place - is probably a vegetarian

Lo'ak: - still thinks fart jokes are funny - dumb as a brick but tries hard not to be - Payakan is his Bestie™ - tried to make a Bestie bracelet for him and Payakan - found out it didn't work - cried - tries to be tough and cool - looks too cute so it's not really working is it - "oh man I'm crushing so hard on Tsireya" proceeds to leave her with his brother's dead body for like an hour

Tuk: - i have a feeling she will look most like her father growing up, but act most like her mother - will probably have matured too much in the 3rd movie due to the trauma of the 2nd - if anything happens to Tuk in Avatar 3 i will riot on the streets with fire

Spider: - Neteyam taught him all the bad words - All The Bad Words In The Entire Na'vi Language - Spider speaks fluent Swear Words™ - but is actually a good boi - most likely annoyed the f*ck out of Quaritch on purpose in hopes of him letting Spider go while captured - obviously didn't work since Quaritch is more annoying than Spider and thus immune to annoyancy

Tsireya: - claims she's in love with Lo'ak - was mighty fine with the idea of Lo'ak swimming into Payakan's mouth when she still thought Payakan was evil - like girl wdym "I met a boy" - are you in love with him or nah?? - otherwise she's the Na'vi embodiment of glitter and rainbows - probably a little traumatized after Lo'ak left her with Neteyam's dead body - but yeah she's all good uwu

Aonung: - flirts with boys - swears he's straight as an arrow - cannot tell the difference between a bow and an arrow - like the kid has a fixation on tails and you tell me that boy is straight???

Rotxo: - no he's not one of the jerks that messed with Lo'ak - he has a look-alike you fools - Rotxo is actually a good boy and cares about people - especially Kiri 0w0

Quaritch: - played too much CoD growing up - that's it that's all there is to that cracther - i misspelled *character but i'm gonna leave it at that - too lazy to fix my mistake

Tonowari: - cutest character of them all despite being a grown man - only rivaled by Tuk - Tonowari and Tuk could have "cuteness contest" and Tonowari might actually win - like he's so full of fluff and care and love - still wouldn't say no to him railing me in bed tho

Ronal: - would kill a man to protect her spirit sister - would kill a man to protect her family - would kill a man to protect her people - would kill a man
